83 240D sliding vent control knob question
![]() I want to glue the veneer strip behind it. How does the rectangular knob come off? I tried pulling on it and it didn't go. Didn't want to go ape ***** yanking on it in fear of breaking something.

Mine came off just by pulling on it. Try wiggling it and pulling on it at the same time.

Push/pull it to the side, I believe it removes from left to right. It's slotted rubber knob with sideways slot. Pull on one side only not both.

Glad to help. Another trick is cure scratches in wood finish with dark brown shoe wax.
