How fast are you putting miles on your diesel?
We know these cars like to run. Who out there is putting miles on their car quickly? Not necessarily the most miles but "fast" miles.
I put about 500 miles per week on my W210, or roughly 26K/yr.

As a college commuter I put about 150 miles per day, five days a week on mine. That's why I bought the 'ole gal, I wanted to have a tough and reliable highway-miles commuter. She runs like a champ mechanically but its always the usual upkeep that drives me crazy. I'd love to eventually have a mechanically/operationally pristine W123 and drive it like mad. Hmmm, as a future travel speech-therapist I believe there might be an opening in my future stateside at least but I'll be headed overseas. On an attached but unrelated note; I've read many times of W123's having water coming in the cabin from above the emergency brake pedal slot. I've read many times of people that don't know how to find the source. Go out at night, shine a flashlight down or up from either the engine bay or the emergency brake slot. It works, so simple its a 'duh' approach but I've never read of this idea for a solution in locating the leak/hole.

Depends on the time of year but I usually drive about 16-20,000 miles a year.
![]() My dad drives about 400 miles a week between his 300SD and 300D....(he alternates based on the type of driving) 300D gets to do the rush-hour stuff.

These leaks are usually the windshield seal, replace, or use silicone around the corners. If it gets really cold at just the wrong time, cracked glass is in your future.
