heater servo by pass?

i was just reading a post from some gentlemen discussing a by pass procedure for the servo. i was wondering if any of these gentlemen would be willing to elaborate about this procedure. im assuming this is a fix to avoid having one or the computer upgrade maybe. i am having the problem of the servo staying on when i turn off the engine. it is a 79 300d i love the car but this has been an issue now for a minute and i dont have lots of money so if i could possably fix it with out having to drop lots of money right this minute that would be great.

i saw a used servo unit on eBay today; might be a relatively cheap option if the bidding doesn't get to high.

I bypassed mine with a few plastic hose connectors that i found at the auto store. You just connect that lines together and clamp it tight. its pretty straight forward.

thank you both. after researching i am finding that the servo is a waste of time to replace as a servo and hard to come by so i am just putting around the idea of alternatives to it. if it is not really necessary to have it i dont really want it as much as i want to keep the car as original as i can. what does the servo do exactly i think i have tried to google it and nothing really comes up for me. so amybe some one might be able to explain it

Basically the ACC servo operates on varying electrical resistance information and operates the internal heater valve. Combined with the ACC amplifier, it also works in conjunction with the temp control on the acc control unit so the auto temp control system can regulate the temp relative to the actual interior car temp.

Try the bypass and see if your AC continues to work.
I just did a bypass but my AC is warm now.

May just need an alteration of method.
