'87 300d losing prime

Has anyone noticed that parking on a hill for several hours causes the fuel system to lose prime? On level ground this doesn't occur. The cap is new and there are no obvious diesel leaks. The fuel filter shows fuel with a small bubble.

Check all your hose connections, tighten all the clamps. Your primer pump may be leaking. It's a common place for leaks to develop.

There is no primer pump on this model. Your tank screen or fuel filters may be clogged.

I just replaced the lift pump on mine. The piston was stuck and it was letting fuel back out through the check valve and loosing prime.
