I fueled up a couple days ago and it was about 3.29. You can also go on www.gasbuddy.com and plug in any part of the country to compare to your area.

It has gone up even more than diesel, most people are seeing around $4 a gallon when you calculate the cost of it. Not to mention it will hurt your engine, and when running it you'll get 4 less mpg.

Saturday I fueled at Flying J in Lodi, Ca, $3.56 and $3.61 with plastic.
In Sacramento I 5 and Richards blvd Chevron $3.39
In Milpitas Valero $3.89

We just got to run faster on the tred mill to keep up with the increases.

If the veggie price is up there.. little I can do about it...might switch to it anyway, however, when Dr. Rudolph Diesel first invented the diesel engine in the 1890's, diesel fuel, as we know it today, did not yet exist. Dr. Diesel fueled his early prototype engines with peanut oil.

I'll follow in the footsteps one of the first Diesel people.

Unfortunately the Diesel engine as you describe it no longer exists. ALL modern (1960+) diesel engines were made to run on petroleum Diesel.

I noticed diesel near my house in N. VA this morning was up to $3.50 a gallon. Holy moly!

This led me to ask the question of whether their are different grades of diesel fuel that can be burned in a 24 year old MB? I'm new to diesel cars, so I have not got any experience with this yet. I'm still on my first tankful.
