Engine Shock Replacement Advise
I had the oil cooler hoses replaced last week, and found the driver side engine mount completely shot. Figuring that the passenger side shock is most likely in the same condition, I want to replace it.
Looking at the parts, there is the shock, and the shock mounting kit. Is it necessary to replace the shock mounting kit, or can I reuse the old one with the new shock? Also, it looks pretty straight forward replacing it, is there anything that I need to be aware of?

They aren't hard to replace. the problem is you dont
They aren't hard to replace. The problem is you don't know if they are shot until you remove the mount and if they are you have to stop and order a pair...........

The shock mounting kit is nothing more than some rubber bushings and the metal washers, which usually last forever. So if the rubber bushings are still good (soft), don't waste your money. On the other hand, the shocks, which actually make a difference, are bloody expensive - considering their size. When I had to remove mine to replace the motor mounts, I cleaned them up (they still worked OK) and inspected the rubber (it was not hard) and reinstalled everything. After 205K, I still have no engine vibration.
