Update:
Maybe I'm speaking too soon......and the diesel gods may strike me down for saying this.....but I've outlasted the gunk.
Seriously, I had the Por15 tank cleaner in my online shopping cart, Dave Morrison's directions on dropping the fuel tank printed out.....and I was just waiting until my reserve light came on.... and then a funny thing happened - my prefilter stopped clogging. It's still got some rust in it....but not enough to shut me down like before. Currently, I've gone about 700 miles (2.5 weeks) without flushing the prefilter - and as I posted before, I could only go about 100-200 miles before until I was completely fuel starved. Needless to say, I don't miss pumping the primer. I only ran that original dosage of Startron through - and I've been dosing with Powerservice ever since. I'm guessing I changed (flushed) the prefilter 20 times since my original post. So anway, I just thought I'd provide an update (as non-informative and apathetic as the solution was) because people always complain about never posting back with the result. So there's your result, don't do anything - just keep driving ![]()
