P1470 Fault Boost pressure control
I paid $200.00 to get a readout on my 1998 e300td(210.025 606.962).
They will fix the problem, they think, for another $800.00. I would just as soon do the work myself. Where do I purchase an intake or boost pressure controller new , used or repair kit? I locked the turbo into full boost mode and it worked great until the fuel supply could not keep up with that much boost. Thanks in advance. |

Click the buy parts tab above.
I beleive you are looking for a transducer? Same one controls the EGR, its mounted on the firewall next to the intake manifold; you can swap the two of them to confirm if that is where the fault is occuring. Buy a $50-80 OBDII scanner for yourself. $200 is ridiculous. Purchasing one is the best insurance that you wont need it..... ![]()

I clicked on the buy parts like and typed in EGR Transducer and came up with "0". Of course the wife has the car at work as her 1987 124.133...603.960 failed to start this AM. Looks like no glow plug light.Just another project.

I looked breifly and didnt see it after the fact too.
Call Phil and he can get it. In CA he usually has one day service if ordered before noon. First things first is to swap the units out to confirm it is the culprit. THis is not a fault I've dealt with personally before so may be something else.

Had a chance to swap the parts. No change for 250 miles. I drove back from the Colorado River early Sunday morning. Managed to get 33 mpg. No turbo boost. Drove 250 miles in 2hours and 50 minutes. nice ride at 5am!
Went to the store after returning and the turbo boost worked for about 5 minutes and then back to no pep. Any other thoughts. Larry |

Double check the code, I did not find that number when I looked at the DTC list over the weekend.

Is your E250 a '97 or newer?
FYI - Put that info in your signature so we always know what car we are talking about. Alos remind us it a turbo each time; yours is a engine we never got in the USA.

"HUSK" shows a picture of the transducer controling the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve in his photo. Problem is that his photo is of the 3.0L 606.962 engine. Your engine is different.
If no one else responds, I'll look it up tongiht when I get home from work and post a link showing where they are located on your engine.

Poisas - Your's is a 210.015. Here is the electronic parts list for the entire vehicle. http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb1.asp?TP=1&F=210015&VIN=
I do not know your engine....as I said, it was never brought to the USA so no one here will really ahve had any expirience with it. We only got the 6 cyl 606 diesel engine for the the W210. 98-99 had turbo's and 96-97 did not. I *think* you may have some butterfly flaps in part #101/104 which should be controled by an electronic trancducer. Make certain the vacuum and electrical connections look good. http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp?TP=1&F=210015&M=605%2E962&GM=717%2E460&CT=M&cat=19S&SID=14&SGR=030&SGN=02 Although I can not locate in it in the parts catalog, you should have a second transducer down by your turbo. There should be a vacuum line connected to the turbo wastegate that leads to the controler; it will be down low and you will prob find it from beneath. The mixing flaps (sticky/sticking) or the transducer are probably at fault. You've got a manual trans? I'm envious. We never got that here either. That must be fun to drive with your 2.5l engine. That engine is really flexible and likes to rev......Must be fun as long as you keep the rpm's up.
