Angry Im so Pissed

Well for you that know that i had a brake problem about two weeks ago. I still wait for the jacka$$' at autozone to get me working calipers. So about 2 weeks ago i went into autozone and ordered calipers they said that they would be in, in two days.

Well three days later i get a call your orders in. well i go down there and only one of the two calipers that i ordered was in. i then wait three more days when i get a phone call saying the other caliper was in.

I go down there, pick it up, get home and just realize that the calipers was rebuilt wrong. one half was the right one while the other half wasn't. This left like a 1/2 inch space in between the pads and the rotors.

I take them back and say that they are the wrong ones they refund me and they order new ones. 2 days later the new one comes in. I get it on the car and drive it around to see how they are holding up.

while coming to a stop i notice steam. when getting home i take the wheel off and look at the caliper and i notice that where the brake line screws into the caliper has cracked.

now there is no way that i overtightened it because i used just enough pressure to make it snug. Now i am going to have to take it back and get my refund. Well i guess i learned my lesson.

NEVER GO TO AUTOZONE FOR ANY PARTS!!! this is just the store that i go to but they will never see me in there again. next time I will do business with Phil. Hope nothing like this ever happens to anybody here.

Its been a little over two week with no car. all i have to say is that i love my mother for her letting me use her car.

Yup, that's the problem with those guys.

By contrast, a couple of weeks ago I noticed a leak in one of my front calipers on friday afternoon (I was driving out of town on sunday). I stopped by my indy at about 2PM and told him what I needed. He called his guy at worldpac and the parts (calipers, rotors, pads, flex lines, sensors) were at his place in about an hour. I picked up the parts friday at 5PM and installed everything saturday morning. On sunday I drove from CO to OH.

Why would you go to Autozoo for anything? I hate chain stores they are usefull for getting wax, rags, and oil. Even then their use is marginal. I went to Pep Boys today in hopes of getting touch up paint for a Jetta. Me thinking they made a billion Jetta's so they have got to have it, of course they did not.

If I wanted some rebuilt calipers I'd give Phil a call, spend 2 minutes ordering them. With regular free shipping I usualy get the parts in a day or two. The parts would be correct and of high quality. No messing around, throw the core's in a box and ship them back.

How much is your time worth? Stop messing around with those morons and just order them from a decent place.

I order 99% of the parts I need for my cars online, its cheaper and faster.

I bought a new set of Bilsteins for my SD at Auto Zone, shipped in in two days, then got a free replacement set 100K miles later when they started leaking.

They were about half of what Mercedes-Benz wanted for a new set.

What's up with all the problems with Auto Zone??

The biggest problem is that the employees don't have a clue.

How much did you pay for each one? Bilstein has the lifetime warranty not Autozone.

I'll find the receipt.

The Auto Zone replaced the Bilsteins they sold me with a new set of Bilsteins at no charge, when the first set of Bilsteins I bought from them started leaking..

I don't know who Auto Zone buys Bilsteins from.......could it be Bilstein?

I didn't know you could buy direct from Bilstein. News to me.

What I am getting at is that it doesn't matter where you get Bilsteins from, you still get the warranty.

I wonder if they are cheaper, I know you can get them for about $70 each online for the W210.
