Fuel leak? What did I do wrong when I changed the filter?

Just changed my filter on my om617 turbo, and I have a leak from the nut on top of the fuel filter housing. I tried to get it snug and it's still spiting out fuel from that nut. My filter didn't come with a gasket. Is there one that I'm mising or what would be the problem?

You need a new aluminum washer. If it was copper you could anneal it...you could try that with the one you've got now...just watch the heat.

Sorry, no.
You will need to go to Napa or MB dealer for one.
Don't use a fibre one. Make sure there are no burrs on the nut flats digging into the washer.

My MBWIS is not working.

copper washer, 18mm i.d.

003-997-58-48
o-ring

000-997-00-48
o-ring

Not sure that an 85 originally came with the washer, but it can't hurt to add one. I would bet on leaking o-rings as the cause of the problem though.

Pull the bolt out. The o-rings are on the shaft of the bolt.
