Speedo cable: square peg into a slotted hole.

I have an 85 with a manual transmission. The manual is a first gen and has a slotted hole for the speed cable. The 85 has a square end. Anyone know if/where I can find a slotted cable that will work with the 2.88 speedo? Otherwise I am going to put some JB weld in there and make it square but then I wont be able to remove the cable again. At this point I have no speedo. It had worked for a while but finally spun free.
