Check my sig line. The only gas vehicle I own is my Quad. Two diesels and my Jeep on Propane.

I wouldn't say so. We got the diesels we have because of needs. We needed the turbo diesel for towing. We got the E300 for the better economy since fuel was cheaper then. Today, it is a push. More expensive fuel and harder to find but goes farther. Is the new turbo diesel more spritely than it used to be? Yes. Is it better than a Forced Induction gas car? Don't think so. In the end, it is going to have to depend on the price I get when it comes down to deciding if I want gas or diesel for our next car.

The way I see it, you do have to pay more for a diesel car as opposed to a gas car when it comes down to it. If I take that premium and buy a supercharger for my gas car, would I have better performance? I think so. I know that if you bought an F350 that was diesel vs one that is gas, you pay about $6000 more. So, I can take part of that money and stuff it into a turbo or a supercharger on the gas car and have super performance.

When I was looking at a property once, they had a little diesel riding lawnmower in the garage. I can't remember the brand now though.

I have had diesels vehicles for my primary source of transportation for so long I don't remember life without one! For me they are like a good tool...I would be at a loss if I could not find it when I needed it.....

my brother has a yanmar I think, and I use a kubota... plenty of manufacturers have diesel yard tractors... pricey though

market forces

may the force be with you.

2009 BMW introduces diesel models to the USA. Probably MBZ ML class type vehicles.

Evidently not the snazzy line up one finds in Europe.

I love diesel's.
I love the power and reliability of my 1 ton dodge. I know that truck can pull anything I need for the business anytime anywhere.

I loved my TDI and the 45 mpg it got.
I love my new to me 87 300sdl. Rock sold car, with lots of get up and gooooo.

Plus I love the fact that I can say that my fuel is from Texas and is renewable. Biodiesel is where it's at.

I would say that my 01 Excursion with the Powerstroke has been pretty good to me. Normal wear and tear items and mods is all I have done to it.

Lots of get up and go? Compared to what?

This subject is in the current issue of The Roundel. The 5-Series diesel cars will be introduced, not the X-series SUVs. The supposed reason is that BMW doesn't want the association of "diesel + SUV = truck."

That TD is white...

There are few gas engines that provide the kind of torque diesels do. And none of them get the same kind of economu.

I'd rather have torque in the curves than HP in the straightaway.
