HELP! Black Soot on the driveway under the Tailpipe (85 300D)

I have afeeling my 85 300D is running way too rich. I get Black Soot blasts on the driveway under the Tailpipe (85 300D) whenever I start the car and when I changed the glo plugs, the old ones were pretty carboned up.

Should I lean out my ALDA or what? My valve adjustments were done recently.and timing chain are new.
