Last night my little brother made it from Kentucky to home in California in my (his) 1985 300TDT. After a few months of talking 'bout cars and diesels and Mercedes and stuff with me, he finally got off his butt and started the purchasing process. Not wanting him to get stung by eBay hucksters, I offered him my 1985 300TDT Euro for a deal. I felt good about it because I was extending our Mercedes diesel family, I knew more about my car than unknown ones on eBay, and was able to get him to fly out and pick it up which allowed me to do a brain dump on everything I have learned on Mercedes diesels (thanks to this forum). (Honestly, the brain dump only took 5 minutes because I am still learning.)

His trip out even allowed us to "test" drive the car round trip from Louisville to Nashville. We hit a Pull A Part down there that had over a dozen 300s. This allowed us a good time to learn on some cars down there as well as pick up some choice needed and spare parts for both of our cars. His car ran like a champ like we all know they can with some care, routine maintenance and TLC.

He is thrilled with his acquisition and should be hitting this forum up. I heavily suggested he make it required reading.

You guys are the ones that make stuff like this happen. Thanks again for the brotherhood. I'm glad I can help contribute to extending it.
