About 4 weeks ago I had to fix the alternator pulley, and while I had my head under da hood.......I noticed the fins on my turbo were all bunged up.

So what turned out to be an evening project of fixing my alternator turned into "look what I did with my Xmas bonus".

Took the intake and exhaust off the car, removed the turbo and sent it out to be rebuilt. It required a new compressor wheel, easy-out'in a heat shield screw, jet washed an intake manifold etc. blah blah blah.

In the meantime, I was borrowing my buddies car ( '02 Mitsubishi Eclipse Sypder convertible, 5 speed V-6, its for sale btw). He just bought a used Audi S4 convertible with the V8.

Well, its been raining a bit, I got busy at work. Picked up a cold.......it WAS cold and generally I felt lazy around the holidays. I decide to replace a couple of small items while the exhaust and intake is off the car (motor mount and lowe turbo drain pipe grommet). etc etc etc.

Now 4 weeks later and I'm 95% done. In the meantime.........

Last week while I was driving to work, I pulled up behind a 2yo Jag. I was too close to the Jag at the red light and of course my foot just had to slip off the clutch. It couldn't have been a POS pickup truck, NO! I hit the Jag and today I pony'd up the $690 to repair the Jag bumper.

So much for my almost free car rental.

(the plastic bumper on the Mitsu is very slightly cracked right at the small rubber supports that hold the license plate frame. Hardly noticeable)
