Sorry, I do not know how to fix it; like I said up towards the top of the page look for "Search" and do a search see if you can find some other threads on the subject. Also there is a small tool than can be used to turn the sunroof as yo said back there in the trunik some where.
The companies that sponsers this site "**************" I believe sells an instruction booklet just for repairing the sun roof. I do not know if they are the same company but here is the ************** site that is on Ebay concerning the sun roof.

I have origional Mercedes manuals (2 books) comming from an Ebay sale books #1 and #2 on the 123 bodies and chassies. It should have the factory instructions but I have not recieved the books yet. So I cannot help right now.
