I got a leak in my fuel return lines and was wanting to replace all of them, except the terminated end on #5 and I was wondering if this is the right part/length I need to get the job done.

The one that is leaking the worst is the #1 back to the filter housing, this is the one that is about 2x as long as the others.

I took this information from another thread. If you need to know how much you will need you may have to get your tape measure and measure it. Or, you might go to Ebay there was a seller there who sold it and would say X amout of hose is enought for a 5 cylinger engine. You can find out what the X is. If you are not in a hurry do some searches and you may find it for $1.79-$2.49 per meter; besure to check the shipping when you buy.

Volkswagen dealers also sell the injector retun hose as the older VW rabbits have similar injector bodies. It may be slightly cheaper to get it from them instead of mercedes. stocked under the VW number N 20 252 5 but Mercedes uses the same hose as well as many others who use Bosch Diesel injection systems.
If you need to fix it right now regular vacuum hose will last a 1 or 2 weeks before it gets eaten up and leaks again. I used a piece of silicone vacuum hose on my Volvo diesel and it was on for a year with out leaks. However, when I took it off the hose was rock hard and had to be cut off and was no longer re-usable.
Also to replace the end plug just cut a short piece of hose and get a slightly oversized very fine threaded screw. Coat the clean screw threads with silicone or anothe sealent and shove it in one end of the hose and let it cure a few hours in a warm area before you install it.

if you STILL can't find any hose, and you don't want to wait for fastlane to ship to you, any chainsaw/weedeater repair shop will have 1/8" fuel line in stock that works great. I've had a section on my cars now for over a year and a half, and have had no leaks... another plus of this hose is you can see if any air is in the fuel and you can easily bleed out the air if you run out of fuel with the bleed pump. one down side is your motor will now look like it has neon lines running on the motor...

I'd consider using viton. I think it lasts longer than the stock stuff with normal diesel, but it'd also be ready to burn bio if you ever wanted to do that. **************.com has viton at a decent price. Since I'm a cheapskate, I only replace lines as they fail, so I've got a couple of viton, one that is a plastic vac hose cut to length, and a couple of green weedeater lines (thanks, john, for that idea). I decided not to pay for overnight delivery on my viton (again, I'm cheap), and went down to the lawnmower shop. A buck a foot, and I was on the road again. Now I keep a good bit of that around as backups.

I went with the tygon 1/8 fuel line for the loop, took all of 3 feet to replace them all. and yes thanks for the Tip John. its pretty cool to be able to see the fuel pulsing through the air filled lines at first. It gives me a guess about how much I was loosing before the replacement. plus I don't know if this is just my optimism or not but before replacement I was having a slight wander of the idle on cold starts, and today I started it and it sounded steady. we shall see how this plays out.

I have never seen neon green fuel line. Where does this material usually sell from?

Since no one has addressed the needed length in nearly 4 years of this threads existence, I go with about 6' and have enough for spare if I ever need to pull a line and it gets damaged.

There is about 6-7" between injectors. So that is about 30" with the 2" stub at the end. Add about 16-18" from cyl #1 to filter housing for a rough total of about 50". The extra 1 foot wont cost much to have as spare, then making a total of 6 feet.
