Hi Guys, new to the forums.
I have a 2000 ML 270 and the power steering started making noise when cold and Im thinking its low on fluid. Problem is where do I check fluid level? Im guessing its under a shroud or something but I figured I'd ask here before I start taking things apart.

mine did not stay in the stable very long. never had any issues with my ML, it was the 430 anyway, so I doubt it would be in the same place anyway... I would just pop the hood and dig around near the belts until I found the pump, then follow the hoses if it had no reservoir...

Found the fill for it, under a shroud on the drivers side. Now which type fluid?

That should be listed in the owners manual somewhere....

I just checked "Fast Lane" above at Buy Parts. They don't list an ML270. Is it a Euro. What engine does it have.

ML270 is a european model- a diesel, 5 cyl if I remember right. I've only seen two of these and it was awhile ago. It will use the same fluid any other ML uses, just pick a 320 or 430 and get the fluid listed for that.
