Late 126 sunroof pictures please!

Whilst I swap the head on my '87, I'm going to spend some time to get everything working as new.

I need some detailed pictures of how the sliders connect to the roof panel itself and how the sliders are oriented.

Mine had been disconnected previous to my ownership and, well, those beautiful pictures in the FSM ain't showing me diddly.

If any of y'all who happen to have their sunroof headliner off would be so gracious as to snap a few digital images, I'd be mighty obliged!

Not sure if these are of any use ...
-Picture at left shows where the arm bolts to the roof panel ... you can see in the photo I have the front bolt removed.
-Middle pic shows where the arm bolts to the transport bridge
-Last pic is a BROKEN arm ... the arrows point to the breaks. You can see the large flat area of the arm that connects to the transport bridge, to the right of the mechanism ... you can see the portion that bolts to the roof panel lying at the top of the photo, broken from the mechanism (it's supposed to be connected where the right yellow arrow is). The arm orients in the car with the large, flat section connecting to the transport bridge toward the rear of the car (and pointing inward, as you can see in the second pic). You can see the sliding shoes in this photo, one to the left (at the front of the mechanism) and one right under the transport bridge connection. Those will go in the sliding rails.

I wish I'd taken better pictures, but this was such a huge project for me and I was more focused on getting it done right. If I ever do it again (hopefully I won't have to!) I'll take better photos.

Thanks, Bodhi, that actually has helped a lot. I have the panel off and have discovered my arms are busted just like yours were.

Guess I'll be ordering new arms soon.

If you take this apart, can you make a DIY out of it or at least take many pictures? Every damned 86+ car I have comes with a non-100% functional sunroof.

Yeah. I got a bad engine to deal with first, so I'm not sure how fast I'll get to the sliding roof.

No rush, I have mine shut and sealed... but it'd be nice if they'd at least vent for the summer.

Cool. Lemme tear mine down and see what's up. I'll let you know.

There's also a couple Mercedes indy shops here who might be able to provide one.

Shipping from TX might be a killer.

Actually it's not that bad anymore, I sent an M117 longblock with trans for around $350 to Maryland.

Wow!

I'll post progress on my teardown. The FSM gives specs on go/no-go for pistons/cylinders/rings. That and the bearing condition is what'll tell me what to do.

If I'm looking at all new liners and pistons then this block is headed to the scrap heap.
