I feel its my right to shop in OR for all the years I got raped by OR when I worked in Portland while living in WA. I had to pay OR's sizable income tax but I could never vote on issues that affected me while working there. It's called taxation without representation. There was a war fought over that issue many years ago.
Yeah, why don't we dump all our engines in Olympia in the capitol plaza if they pass a ludicrous tax like taxing the displacement on engines. *********s! |

The organization I worked for decided to move from Vancouver WA to Portland OR because of the stifling rules and regulations that were being imposed on them by WA. |
If you look around, you'll find that this kind of taxation is pretty standard for most states. Typically, you get taxed where you live AND where you work. I guess you guys were lucky that WA doesn't have an income tax... otherwise, you would have been hit up twice (live in WA / work in OR).

I'm out of energy for the politics of this kind of thing. I do know one thing... I blame industries and overdevelopment for more of the global warming problems than I do automobiles. Therefore... I'll hardheadedly pay whatever tax they want to throw at me for my diesels and V8s... I don't want us to run out of oil, I'll drive in the most efficient manner I can with these vehicles... but I'm not letting them make the vehicles themselves the villains either. That's just no way to solve problems.
