200k/Spring Repair schedule
I have to replace my calipers/brake hoses this weekend and this got me thinking about how to treat this vehicle right.
CHanged all fluids when I got her last year. Changed a rear axle, front rotors, new pencil plugs before winter. Engine is running well, idles well, 27 mpg on the highway, no movement from oil cap during 'tea kettle' test. Sure feels slow though, might be me used to newer vehicles. When the weather gets warmer I'll do a valve adjustment and check the chain for stretch, along with wear on the tensioner/rails, etc. Adjust IP timing, especially if I have to install a key. I have a cracekd boot on an upper control arm, those might be this summer, along with new shocks. I read a 'When I replaced what' thread and I was seeing alternators at about 250k, so I'll check mine there. Any other ideas for things I should be checking at this point?
