I'd definitely be spending whatever it took to get paper books for the SDL. Pics on the cd are terrible, and finding the section you need always takes a while.

That`s great you got that manual, I have some of the CD`s, but with the books it`s faster to find things. but with the CD`s you can print the pages you need so you don`t mess the book with greasy fingers.

I have seen vol 1 or 2 for the 123 come up and go for $9.99, and a whole set listed for $139.00 with no bids.

I think I did ok a while back,

w123 svc manual vol 1 & 2
617.95 eng. manual
w123 svc. manual heating, air conditioning, automatic climate control
maint. manual year 1981 - 1993
got these for $212.00 + ship.

I would like to find the elusive w126 manuals, but one`s I see cost $.
I did score on the w126 auto. climate control for $15.00

The best score was the w123 electrical trouble shooting manual
1983 - 1985 FOR FREE

I still prefer my local stored web-based HTML/PDF version. All the advantages of the CD and the book without having to get my book dirty.

Brian, serves him right, haha! I committed at $50, he should retitle his post, sorry guys, but I lost LOL. We are just giving you a hard time. Plus you need some more feedbacks, so I guess +1 cost you $12.

Forced, so your book is clean, but your keyboard and mouse are dirty instead! That is what happens when Im working on the car. I bring down my old laptop to the garage with the CDs and go to town. I used to just print all the PDFs, but it was a waste of paper, so I started doing the above.

Is that the MBUSA cds being used on your mac? I cant get my CDs to work with windows XP, and it wants me to load adobe acrobat 3.1 and when I do that, it messes up adobe 8.0. Go figure.

No, somebody made an web-based directory a long time ago and I've had it since. Honestly, I forget who/when/where did it.

HERE (W123andOM617manuals.zip) is a copy of the HTML-based system I posted a picture of. This is just the directory, you'll have to copy the PDF files from your CD into the right folders.

nope..
I wouldn't either. But for say a $100 deposit, you could loan it out for say a day or 2, right, at say the nominal antique book rental rate, right?

Of course, the renter would have to sign a document saying they weren't going to copy or mark in the margins or put dirty oily fingers on the pages.

RIGHT????

RIGHT????

actually I was going to see about taking it to a book binder in the area and have them remove the pages from the spine and have them laminate each page and bind it in a binder for easy, grease free referencing.

Me, too. I guess I'm old, but I love paper, books, things that don't require electrical impulses to be used . . . .

I like that idea. And if the pages are like in a 3 ring binder, you could load out "sections", right? You know....speaking of a lucky dog....The w123 next project car I picked up had a brand new service manual in it....NOT an MB manual though.....I don't remember which brand of manual it was. I didn't even tear the wrapper off.

omega... I put my max bid at $63 with an eSnipe as well.. but I did not need to use the esnipe

I actually lucked out and won because I had 10 mins left on the auction and had to leave.

I'm going to pass on the fire extinguisher for now.

Lance, is that the true MB service CD? the torrent one "someone" put up.. kinda sucks
