How do you test the cruise control actuator on a 1982 300cd?
1982 300cd.
I get no response at all from cruise control. I've read through all the postings on CC, and what I can't seem to find is how to test the actuator motor to see if it is functioning. Can anybody help me figure this out? I prefer to do this over resoldering the CC amp first. If the actuator is bad, then I'd prefer not to waste my time resoldering the amp. Thanks!

David, Sorry I cant help you with testing the actuator but I just resoldered my amp today and Im cruising again. I did it one time and just hit the joints that I thought looked like they could be bad and still dead. I pulled it back out and hit EVERY joint and it came to life. This is the 3rd car I have had trouble with the cruise and every time its been the amp. Good luck.

Also, a bad actuator can take out the amp. When my amp started acting up I replaced both the amp and actuator at the same time to avoid damaging the new amp.
