glow plug question 82 300D

I'll keep this short and to the point! I don't have the time to spend searching. I have no dash glow light and the glow plugs don't appear to be working all of a sudden. I don't have access to a meter to check them. Relay or one or more plugs bad? Prior to today everything worked great- I must get her working again today as she is the only 'horse' in the stable right now! (and I'm out of personal days) Thanks,
Dan

Remove the glow relay cover and check the large strip fuse on the bottom of it.

Without a meter or a test light to see if you have voltage at the plugs, determining precisely what is wrong is very difficult. Testing the resistance of each plug is the best way. Cheapest thing to do is to assume it is one or more bad plugs so replace them all.

A set of ears will go a long way in investigating the problem. Can you hear the relay click on, and then off about 30 seconds later?

well, I'm headed up the street to snag the relay off the 84 300D euro in the yard. With no dash light and no click on or off from the relay I suspect its the culprit. Even if I suddenly lost five glow plugs, and the relay was good, I would still get a light and the clicks, right?

At $3 when on sale at Harbor Freight (less than $10 when not on sale) everyone should have a multimeter (electrical tester); it will save you alot of time by locating exactly what is wrong and money by replacing only what needs to be replaced.
Let us know how you solved the problem.
