If there is no brake fluid stain on your garage floor then it's probably soaked the undersurface of your carpet. Feel the hardline that comes down from the clutch master and see if it's wet.

um... this may be a very dumb question... but what color would it turn things??? because I've been thinking that the slight rust bubling on my new floor pans was from snow/salt gunk... now im wondering if it's not... ohmygod. GAH!

i need to go check my car... or call the mechanic.

Take a look at your clutch/brake peddle assembly, you should see a black cylinder. that is your master cylinder for your clutch.
on the back half of your brake master cylinder you will see a rubber hose coming off the side that goes into the cabin. that is your supply line of fluid for the clutch master cylinder. there is a line from there that goes through the floor to the slave cylinder on the trans.

If the clutch cylinder or one of the hoses has a leak, you have soggy carpets.
