Oil leak???
Well here about a month ago I seen that oil was pooling under the car, so grab a flash light (I get home after dark) and start looking, well it looks like the front seal is leaking. So I am off and buy a new seal and spacer as every one said was a good idea.
So on Sunday I drive the car up on the ramps and start looking and see that oil is dripping from the bottom oil cooler line, where the hose attaches to the cooler. So I pull the hose off the cooler and clean and inspect and it looks good, so I reinstall and run the engine. It is still leaking, not as fast but leaking. Does this happen allot and what's the best way to fix it??? New hose?? Thanks Guys... Doc. |

Could be crack where fitting meets aluminum oil cooler frame. Or if it was me, I'd try some plumbers teflon tape to seal the threads. No mean feat disconnecting and reinstalling oil cooler line, very fragile fitting there.

slojoe,
The fitting does NOT seal on the threads, its a compression seal. So nothing on the threads will help. Only real fix it to replace the hose. Be careful U don't strip the threads. The oil coolers are expensive. P E H |

Thanks for the tip.. I was looking at it and cleaned it real good, but it is still leaking.. Maybe I need a new hose..
Why would it just start leaking, I have never had the hose off?? Doc. |

The combination of heat, cold and vibration will adversly affect any metal to metal connection.
