I use ATE DOT 4 purchased from Phil, changed every spring as per the old school MB maintenance sheet. Back in the 80's when MB didn't give a damn if owners balked about the cost of taking care of there cars.
![]() They even recomend oiling the doors and hood hinges. ![]()

Funny, I have literally gone years without opening the hood of my pickup. I don't go a week without opening the hood on these.......

I have used silicone in my mbs in the past but I don't recommend it. It ruins the seals after a while. I like the synthetic non silicone stuff now.

My fluid intervals are: Engine oil: every 4000 miles Transmission: every spring regardless of miles (usually under 20k though) Power Steering: every 3 years or so Brakes: full power bleeder flush every 2 years Differential: every 3 years or so Coolant: Drain and fill every couple years Washer Fluid: Constantly! (at least in the winter...) I think thats all of them. ![]() I am hoping my trans lasts forever with the treatment it gets. ![]() ![]()

Considering how many 20+ year old cars I've seen with original brake fluid (i'd assume the black stuff is original), I'd say every other year is plenty

Yeah but I want perfection, I want my brake fluid to be perfectly clear.
![]() I don't really have a schedual for the rear end, just whenever I am under there and its conveinent. When I pull the trans to have it rebuilt in the next year or so I'll probably do it again, just because its cheap and will be easy to get at. You probably only need to do it every 100k though.
