Talking 300cd rear window motors

Are the rear window motors in the 300cd the same as the front door window motors? I had my first experience at a pick and pull salvage yard this morning...managed to salvage a few front door left and right window motors...replaced driver's side window motor and she works like a dream now.

Somewhat afraid to attack rear right window...totally dead...fortunately stuck in up position. Any hints on removing and putting back the rear side panels? My left rear side window wall panel doesn't want to stay on...are there clips I can buy to reassemble it properly?

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

The rear trim that has to be removed is somewhat complicated ( and I had the factory service manual) Seat must removed as well. Its rare that the motor is the fault. Usually faulty switch or dry stuck regulator. On my 81 I had both quarter trims off many, many times to repair the bent regulators and after finally giving up, I permantly raised the glass and glued it to the weatherstrip, disconnected the 2 switches in the armrests! as far as the sail panel trim being loose, It must slide forward to disconnect the clips, some people wrongly pull on the trim breaking the clips. I used VELCRO to hold mine on at the forward edges.

300cd rear window motors fughetta 'bout it

I think i'll just leave the rear windows alone and stuck in the up position...gotta pick yer battles is what I say. It's not like anybody with legs can fit in the back of the 300cd anyway...I put some weather stripping from auto zone between the front and rear window to stop the draft...new rubber seals were $500.00 per window...thought the 2 door wuz cool until I had to mortgage the house to drive it in the winter without freezing my rump off from the breeze inside. Now the weather stripping interferes with the rear window going down...in addition to the broken regulator. Fughetta 'bout it.

po has me po'd

I think the PO on mine tried to "fix" the broken rear window, and what I have now is a butchered trim, without a working window. My pillar piece on the other side is loose now and I think I will be going the velco route. two different tab areas on the back are broken...

Ah, of course...the velcro route. I think I will invest in some velcro to keep the rear panel from coming off...so smart.

it is hot in FL

My problem is it is very hot in FL

Velcro adhesive side doesn't bond well when it is hot...mine keeps falling down.

Anyone try the industrial strength velcro, or different product to withstand the hotness...
