Daimler website-VIN/recall info?

Honda has a place on their website where you input your VIN and it lists any recalls/info for your car and when/if the recall work was performed.

Does Daimer have a page like this? I searched their site and google and had no success.

My '83 coupe was originally a Kali car and it occurs to me that although it no longer has the 'football of doom' under the hood, it probably did at one time. I'd like to know when it was 49 state federalized.

thanx.

Only 85's had the trap. The 83 Kali's had a different vacuum line set up for the EGR from the fed.

An MB site like that would crash soon after its launch, due to millions of visits.
I've used the Honda site to check out my wife's car. I don't know if MB has something like that or not.

ok, thanks for the info, Guess I'm showing east coast roots, I've never seen a kali setup in person and was unfamiliar w/ what years were actually effected. Since I have deleted my egr (for testing purposes only) Guess I'll leave it at that... but I'd still like to see Daimler provide an online level of vehicle history and support that is at least equivalent to Honda.

You can try the NHTSA website which lists recalls by year and model. It doesn't list VINs or VIN ranges though - http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/recallsearch.cfm

You can always have a MB dealer run a vehicle master inquiry (VMI) to determine if there are any open campaigns.
