96-97 E300D owners. Whats your m.p.g. s
Hello, my wife's 97 E300 D has been getting 24-25 mpg on average for the last 3 or 4 tankfulls. I thought she was getting better than that several months ago. What are you 96 and 97 e300d owners getting in yours? Thanks Jim

I get 35 on the highway in my 1997 300D and 28 in the city.I have gotten 40 on the highway.

Average 26 mpg for about 4000 miles mostly on B100 biodiesel and around town, both of which result in lower numbers. Highest was 33.5 on a quick 1-day trip to Sacramento and back (~200 miles). 1996 E300D -- 250,000 miles on the engine and car.

I have been running 29-32. I have about 90% highway with heavy traffic on commute. On a trip I will get 32-34

I dont think I am that far off then. She drives it pretty hard at times and the miles are around half city and half highway (70-75 mph). I will go over it this weekend and check air filter etc. Thanks for the replies. Jim
