Absolutely nothing!
It helps keep my clothes clean! It's easier to take a bath than launder greasy clothes.

Gotta get some Coveralls that say "Mercedes Professional"

or something like that, maybe I can forge them. Maybe even better something like

MERCEDES
certified
STUTTGART

then your neighbors will BRAG that they know you.

Hint: Never talk to them. Stick your nose up in the air like all you think about is Injectors and timing chains and that ordinary talk is boring...

Of course we could do Ladies lingerie but we are saving that to burn in our Diesels which can burn anything

Talking

I usually wear an old pair of jeans either with legs or cut off depending on the temp with a brand new Tee shirt-- I am always ruining new shirts. I use a blue tarp on the ground as the driveway is usually damp when I get to do anything. Nothing worse than a wet crushed slate driveway to work on!

Now the new place has a paved driveway. I am afraid to work on it

Whenever I start wearing out a pair of dockers (my standard office wear) they become "garage pants". Nice thin fabric (as opposed to jeans), so it's not bad for summer, and yet still warm enough for Central Texas winter. I hate t-shirts with logos, so these have become my "garage shirts". I have a couple sweatshirts and a knit hat for "winter" (ie: 40F-50F degrees). Colder than that, and I will just drive my truck until the weather warms up. A 60F degree day is never too far down the road around here.

Cardboard is where it's at for me. Easy to slide around on, absorbant and disposable for oil/fuel spills, no reduction of clearance, and doesn't cost anything.

Much to my wife's distress, I usually wear whatever I happen to have on at the moment when I decide to go "take a look" at something. Several hours later, whatever I was wearing is usually trashed.

Coveralls

dark blue coveralls from Sears. Drew the Star with silver sharpie just above pocket. I try to wear it whenever I can except on a warm day. Makes me feel like I'm in Germany

Ditto, but only when the kids are either asleep or gone. You ought to see the mad dashed into the house when the garage door starts opening from the OTHER remote.

I'm a big cardboard recycler and user, too. My wife sometimes wonder if I'm not going to move to the garage and build a cardboard corner shelter. In addition, I've got some foam that was used in shipping electronic components --- it makes the concrete floor softer and warmer during the winter.

jeans, black sweatshirt

I wear fat-clothes jeans with wide suspenders and a scuzzy black sweat shirt with a hood. The black doesn't show the oil stains and the hood protects my head from the dirt on the floor.

Because I have a LiquiVac I can change my oil in a business suit and not get dirty.
