i got it to start

So i got the car started today and withing a couple revolutions...it started(little effort) about an hour later i tried to start it and it just sounded like my battery was dead. do starters that are going bad have speratic opperation like that? thanks, Stephen

stephen,

I have known cold starters to start an engine but when they get hot they will not start the engine. Remember, a starter gets hot from being bolted onto a hot engine.
