Bull schisse. If they have to pay they will get you back for it eventually.

If you can avoid EVER contacting the insurance company for ANYTHING other than paying your bill you'll be better off in the long run. Pay to fix the windshield yourself.

Car insurance is one of the BIGGEST scams on the planet. The amount of money people pay for protection against something that might happen would well cover anything that might ever happen if they set that money aside on their own. It is government backed mafia "protection" with a corporate face.

That's why Warren Buffett invests in them so heavily! They're constant money makers, and you have to have insurance, by LAW.

the comprehensive is a scam for sure, but the liability is most definitely required. a friend of mine lost their home because they had their insurance lapse and had an accident. even a minor accident with medical claims will bankrupt most drivers if they don't have insurance.
best insurance is uber defensive driving. but you can't prevent everything.
that's why liability is required insurance. an umbrella policy is a good idea as well... hate to be found at fault in an accident that takes out a school bus or slams into some pedestrians or something...$$$$$

These are factually incorrect statements.

If you have full glass coverage on the vehicle..........there is nothing to present other than the fact that the glass is cracked. They always cover it.

No, you won't suffer any penalties for submitting a single claim. The problems come into play when you submit multiple claims within a specific time period. In NY, it's three claims in 18 months. The amount of the claim is not relevant. You could submit two claims for glass and one for a tow (if you have towing coverage) and they'll drop you if the claims were within 18 months.

Know the game......and use it. I get a new windshield every three years or so. In that period of time, I sent them over $7K. Do you think they are concerned about a $1000. payback to me?

My parents came to the US in 1965 and bought their first car in 1967. Here's dad's conversation with the insurance agent:

- So basically I'm betting you that I will NOT have an accident this year and you're saying I WILL have an accident.
- You can look at it that way.
- But I'm the one putting up the money. So do I "WIN" anything ? Do I get my money back at the end of tyhe year if I DON'T have an accident ?
- No sir. It does not work that way.
- But I need insurance to drive legally..
- Yes.
- So it's legalized extortion......
