Is this what I think it is?

I've never seen a "new" one from way back when, but I stumbled on a box of these with the part number 0434250110-110, the other number below seen on the box is varies, the one pictured and one other one.
What are these for exactly? I can't cross the number anywhere.
They are what seems to be wax covered for protection, kinda neat.

Yes, an injection nozzle. You shouldn't handle it with your bare hands, the acids in your skin oil can etch the metal.

Read the post again. It's covered in wax.

Cool. I thought so, though I haven't opened any of em up.

Can anyone ID them via the part number, or is that sub number under the part number important? I can get a box of them fairly cheap if they are something I might ever use, read: any 80's MB diesel.

Look on the Spray Nozzle itself and there should be a number DN O SD something.
If it is DN O SD 240 (or 2400). The Nozzles can be used in a turbo or non-turbo engine like my 300D if they are used as a complete set or to replace the same nozzle.
See the chart on page one of this site under "Bosch Designation":
http://www.pauldrayton.com/uploadfiles/merc/Service/W123/w123CD2/Program/Engine/617/07_1-135.pdf

If they are made in Germany you may soon have a lot of new friends!
Good news they will work on your car. I went to the Bosch USA site. They have a vehicle part look up (they ask but you do not need your VIN number).
