sad that no ... performance examples could be done... tranny go boom... 1000NM... not bad.
but the 28MPG in a performance car is no big deal, my 90 vette got that.

Your performance car did not win an an all-out race at Le Mans. Comparing a 'Vette to an endurance race car is comparing apples and oranges.

This is the R8 Supercar with a Diesel in it, not the R10 Race car.

... neither did this R8 diesel... and my year vette did hold the world record top 24Hour sustained speed... so there!
and the point of the comparison was that a performance car built nearly 20 years ago had equal fuel mileage... you would think that in this time higher mileage could be achieved...

with flappers!

and I'm thinking train horns on the hood, since the roof is all glass and would impede the intake function.

lol

I would leave it stock but I would have to get a sweet vanity tag like

OIL BRNR ,DEEZL, SMOKEY, or something alone the lines

It's a bigger engine and a faster car. Lets see it race your ‘vette...your car will look like an economy car in comparison.

... I seriously doubt it...
I am sure that car would win the race, but it would not be economy car close, it would be performance car close...
the car has over 400HP... and with the huge rear tires, and soft compound tires, I am under 4 seconds to 60...
no, I think I would totally beat that concept car with it's wimpy transmission...
the ZF6 transmission and the Dana 60 rear and the LT5 motor in my vette will make it a close race indeed.... not to mention MY car has a top speed of over 200MPH...
heh... chevy is re releasing the ZR1 in 09...

A 1990 ZR-1 set a 24 hour speed endurance record at the Firestone test track in Fort Stockton Texas using a relatively stock LT5 engine with modification that included removal of catalytic converters. The Tommy Morrison racing team averaged 175 MPH, including time for re-fueling and several driver changes.

Sorry, I stand corrected. I saw "TDI Le Mans" and assumed it was the Le Mans diesel king. Yes, Corvette's get great economy, as do some other GM V-8s (as do Harleys, for that matter). It would be interesting to see a real-world comparo.
