Where is the hydraulic spring compressor link?

Someone posted this link on here a while back to a after market spring compressor that they had good luck with. I am getting things together to do the front end rebuild my car needs.

I have looked, and can not seem to locate it.

thanks

I suggested that tool a few years ago and took a thourough drubbing for it.

Someone since has used it succesfully. I can't remember the member's name or I'd link the post.

Answer:

I tried using it on a W123 and W126, no luck.
It would have been a cheaper alternative.
The MB type center bolt compressor works great.
The cheap imitations have a very limited life in commercial shop use.

Have a great day.

Would the 250 one hold up for 3-4 complete rebuilds under the car? I have to do 2 and someone else would borrow it for at least one more set.

How long will the immitataion last?

The cheap ones that are inserted down into the spring perch should be fine for occasional use, however they will not down hole in the W123 spring perch, only the W126 I think.

I have seen the threads on making the hole larger in the car to allow the off brands to fit?
Still like the looks of the hydraulic one...

I have a hard time believing the klann clones would be that much shorter. I personally changed 3 with klann clones...

That hydraulic is not strong enough IIRC 3000lb was required.

we don`t trust being under a car with a hydraulic jack. why would you trust your life to a hydraulic spring compressor????

there isn`t any sort of locking pin/bolt.

right now there is a KNANN spring compressor on E-Bay. only has the rear spring plates. it was a little over $100.00 couple hrs ago.

the guy has a whole lot of MB tools he is clearing out. must be an old mb mech.

How long will the imitation last?
It varies between brands/manufacturers.
Some will survive two springs, others will do twenty cars = 20 x 4 springs.

The danger is when they break + not being able to finish the job.
