accelerator peddle
My accelerator pedal takes quite a bit of effort to push and hold down. I don't mean that my leg muscles are getting big from all the exercise, but it is considerably more effort than any other car I've owned (all gassers). Is this normal?
ben btw:Linkages are all lubed and nothing seems to be binding.

I had a W123 where someone didn't lube the linkage and had installed a huge return spring to get the car to idle....
Anything can happen when a car is 20+ years old. Jim

Mine 300D does take more pressure than my Explorer. It's always interesting at the first light after switching vehicles. LOL

True, true. Two things on an older Mercedes throttle: 1. It takes more pressure to activate than most other brands. 2. Compared to most other cars, the throttle tip-in on a Benz is very sluggish. If you closely examine the Benz linkage, there is a period of slack built in before the throttle linkage even moves when you push down on the accelerator. Jim
