oil pump failing? OM603

OK, this car has been a total lemon since I have bought it, I have rebuilt the turbo, then replaced the cartridge when it blew catastrophically. I was told the engine was rebuilt 20k mi ago when I bought it (about 2k mi ago), but there is a good bit of blow-by. I am getting a good bit of blue-ish smoke while driving, I don't really know how much oil I am burning because I keep loosing a bunch from the turbo breaking. The oil pressure has been looking ok from what I can tell (3 at acceleration, and when cold, about 1.5 or so when warm at idle)

I am sure I have a few problems, but I don't want the whole engine to be destroyed. I am really just afraid to drive this car at this point. I don't want anything to break again. I just need to keep it runing until the 09' come out and I decide what I want. My 300CD is great, I guess you can't win them all...right? OK, done whining...any ideas?

The oil pressure numbers are OK. Why do you think that the oil pump might be failing?

Oh yeah, one thing I forgot to say...the oil light comes on about every other time I drive the car. I usually check the oil level every time I drive it, and it's been at the upper level on the stick most every time. When it's a little low, I've been adding oil.

I've started thinking about the oil pump today because of the consistent turbo problems I've been having, along with the light.

If it's the oil level light, that is a common problem with the early 603s, an oil level sensor. Not oil pressure/pump related. You need a new oil level sensor (easy to replace).

whew! what a relief. I was looking for it earlier, but I guess I suck at the search function.
