A/C oil capacity 82 240D

I've done a search and found 8 oz and 6 oz to completely refill the oil capacity for the a/c system on a '82 240D running R-12 freon. Brand new compressor, and everything has been flushed out.

Which is the correct amount? 8oz? or 6oz.?

Also, is 2.6 pounds the correct R-12 capacity of a 240D?

Thanks to all

My research indicated 170 ml mineral oil, and 2.6 lbs R-12 for my 300d

170ml is 5.7 oz.

OK. So I put in 2 12oz. cans of r-12 today and the pressures that I'm getting at 90-95 degree weather are around 230 PSI on the high side and around 30 on the low side. RPM around 1500. There are still bubbles in the sight glass but decided to stop adding freon until I ask the forum if the 230 PSI is already high enough. The temperature is cool inside the car (vent temp is 50 degrees) and the return line in the engine compartment is sweating which is a good sign.

I had planned on adding 2.6 pounds but added 24 ounces so far. 2.6 pounds is about 4 12 oz cans. I'm just afraid that I may be overpressurizing the system.

What do you guys think?

Thanks
