I have a w123. It's fusebox is under the hood. The blower motor is an under the dash job on the w123 also. I do not know about the 92 model.

Does the A/C compressor engage? It could be fuse, Klima relay, etc.

At least on the 95's E330D, in addition to a blower fuse in the fuse box, there is a SECOND blower fuse on top of the left side (driver's side) inner fender. Its located in a small black box.

Help I need air

My blower motor and regulator have been changed out and worked fine. I did something stupid and forced vents open that were not working. The blower quit. I replace the regulator again, didnt work, ran power to the motor, motor works fine. Tested power to the regulator, yellow wire getting power, red wire nothing. Blower will not come on. Any clue what to do?

I know it sounds odd but I just went through this with a 1985 300D.

With the car running and a/c on wiggle the key and see if the blower starts. On the 85 it tunned out to be a slightly worn ignition switch, not a place you would normally look.

Good luck,
Tony

check that strip fuse in engine comparetment just fwd of main relay box. Check it good too, mine looked fine and still caused intermittent blower. Easy to check, jump a wire across fuse to each screw head. Do that before looking too deep, the rest aint aint easy fix.

Definitely, physically check the strip fuse. Mine had a hairline crack from the constant heating and cooling from the current flow.

Good Luck.

Anyone know where to find the W1 ground 1994 E420

I was told to check the W1 Ground wire behind the CP unit? I assume CP stands for climate panel, but dont know for sure. Where is the W1 ground wire found on a 1994 E420?

(30 Amp blower) strip type fuse

Authur Dalton brought out the suggestion the when you replace the strip fuse
put a "Slight" Horizontal Convex bend (UpWards in the center) in the fuse...
thereby allowing the fuse room to "Flex" with the electrical load at motor
startup (And the concurrent heat load).
If the fuse is "Strapped Down" tight between the two screws, without any flex
room,the brittleness factor increases exponentially.

This would also apply to your Glow Relay 80 Amp fuse.

I am Not Espousing the W-1 diagnosis!
But, you asked for the location...Left side behind the instrument panel.

If I were sweating buckets...
#1. find the 30 Amp strip type fuse (in it's single black flip top holder)on top
of the Driver's side Shock tower...cross the two screws with a jumper wire
with the key turned on and A/C control fan speed "ON" ONLY FOR A SECOND.
[as a2t suggested]
DO NOT RUN AROUND WITH THE SCREWS "JUMPED",PATTING YOURSELF ON
THE BACK,'CAUSE A BAD BLOWER WILL TAKE OUT THE CCU (climate control
unit)

If Blower runs just pick up a couple of strip fuses and you're freezing again!

Now we're flying without the hood!

Arthur Dalton speaks:

That you but....The problem isnt the blower doesnt work

The problem is that the blower ONLY works on high and will not cut off either. I replaced the 30A strip fuse behind the drivers stock tower, but NAPA didnt have the right one, so I put on a 50A,(I know it needs to come off), so I have air just on high all the time.

Arthur, before he became hostile, had me run a bunch of test and seemed to be leaning towards the W1 ground wire problem. So I need help figuring out why it only blows on high, Arthur will not help me, he got pissed when I went to bed and didnt tell him.
