Ok great, so since I added 12 ounces without oil (this is the only time I have not added oil) then I will add 2 ounces oil to get it back at the 8 ounces.

So just one question left lol, what should my high and low pressures be for 80-100 degrees ambient temps?

ACkits.com has an ambient temp/pressure chart. 6 oz of oil should be fine. Too much oil will reduce the cooling capacity, but the compressor will like it.

If you have been adding refrigerant with oil all along, it is likely that you have too much.

My compressor was knocking badly so I decided to add a can of PAG oil charge, it is almost back to normal now.

You guys with the old cars really should be using POE (ester) oil in your systems.

I converted the system to R134a with PAG oil about 7 years ago.
