B100 for $3.99 a gallon in San Antonio

I've been using Alamo Biodiesel (www.alamobiodiesel.com) for my fueling needs for about two months and have used five tanks of their biodiesel.
I've had no problems and have been very happy with their product. After the second tank I did need to change both fuel filters but the gunk appears to have made its way out of the system.

I love the fact that their B100 is $0.40 less expensive per gallon than anyone else in town with petro diesel.

Just a shameless plug for my fuel station!

Maybe I should stock up. How long will diesel keep? Does it have problems after long term storage like gasoline?

Petrol (dino) diesel will keep forever just fine so long as its stored where moisture can't get at it. I think biodiesel has a shelf life....not sure how long though.

Yup ForcedInduction found them for me.

They are great...hours are convenient, always friendly, and you can't beat the price!

I am trying to get a friend of mine to hook them up with the golf course he works for - one of the few fry-vats in the city that isn't mafia owned.

B99 Chandler AZ, $3.99 starting in August...

At least that's what they say it will be when they open next month to the public.

http://azbiodiesel.com/

I talked to the owner and they plan to drop the price once they offset some of the startup costs...we'll see what happens. They do seem to have a great biz model, promoting 'green' living and getting oil free from area restaurants.

They will fill containers - That is what we are doing - I bought 7 5-gal jerry cans and each month I load em up and make a fuel run (they are on the other side of the city from me). We use those through the month and do it again the next month.

It is pretty cool - full service...they pump the fuel. Nice to drive right on by the filling stations to buy from a local business recycling waste oil!

Just leave some for me

I bought some plastic 18Gallon juice barrels from a local soda bottler near me (free actually...) and when I make a run for fuel, I fill them up... four fit nicely in the back of my SD... I have a 12V fuel transfer pump I use to put the fuel in my cars!
works well for me!

I've spoken with the guy who started Alamo, because I'm very interested in doing the same thing he did. Awesome business plan, great execution, great product, great price. It doesn't get much better. B100 for $6 a gallon is crazy. That shows what happens when large national companies get into it. It is going to kill the biodiesel movement. The only way it can succeed is for local shops like Alamo to do it almost all locally.

The tank life of b100 is 12 months.

Alamo Biodiesel Rocks!!

I've been running their fuel almost exclusively for more than a year in my 85 300SD.
When I started using it, it cost about $2.70/gal. That was last spring.

I believe they'll always make sure it's a bargain (meaning significantly lower than petro diesel in the area).

It's $5.43 here in the Bay area at the biofuels oasis: http://www.biofueloasis.com/html/products.html

$5.38 where I used to go in Madison, WI:
http://pfbf.typepad.com/

It is crazy how much the price can vary depending on where you are. I think some states subsidize it, and I am sure there are many other factors, not the least of which is profit motive.
