Seems to me that the blacker the oil (same mileage) the more soot is suspended and removed when the oil is changed. That seems backward to the thinking of others - straighten me out.

two places. either one, the motor is running cleaner and burning without as much soot, or filtered into a better filter. the soot CAN be filtered out, just not with our porous tiny filters.
