I want to know everything about Injection Pumps...

...so where should I turn?

I'm new to diesels and Mercedes Benz autos and would like to know everything I can about the Bosch mechanical injection pump used on my 82 300Cd. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you want to go as far as to know about the theory as to how they work get the book: by Robert Bosch GmbH, Diesel In-line Fuel-Injection Pumps.
Take your time and look around on the internet and you will pay less than$20 for it. Otherwise you will end up paying around $35-$37 for the book.
Another good place to look is your Main Library which may have text books on Diesel Theory as are used in Trade Schools. This will round out your learning as you will learn how it all works together.
It may be that the price has gone up since last year when I bought mine; here are some sources

you can also see about asking some diesel tech teachers at gwinnett tech, or at least use that as a good source for books.

I am going to be taking some classes up there this next quarter and that is one of the areas that I have been looking at, also getting my welding certificates will be fun as well.

then has it listed "Used" from $377.79
-------------------"New" from $377.81

1/2 dot com shows same list price, but has best price as $425.46

LOL Amazon is also selling the Bosch Distributor IP book for $218. If I sell that and the Inline Fuel Injection Pump book I will have enough to get a Parts Car!
The Inline IP book only has 144 pages.

I bought my books about 1-1/2 years ago. I wonder why the price has shot up?
Looks like I need to make sure those books get into the Fire Proof Safe!!!

I think people overlook the Public Library as a sorce for info. A sizable City Main Libray will often have older Diesel Technology Text Books that have a section on Fuel Injection and all of the Engine Components.
They could also be in used book stores. I still look in my Book from 1975 when I went to trade school for info sometimes.
