I'm not sure what my diff is or that of the 280 116 but 307 is stamped in a few places on the back of the cluster I pulled brian (bgk) seemed to think I have a 307 diff will this work in my car? My speedo reaches 120 cluster from 280 reaches 160... Pipe dreams

well does your rear diff have the same 307 stampings? and have you tried a search to find the rear ratios for the various w116's?
look for the rear ratio of both and if they match, go for it!!
