Happy Anniversary to Me!

Exactly one year ago today was my first post at Mercedesshop.

I celebrated in style with a poker run with MBCA and 3 hours in a 2006 Mercedes SLR.

The car belongs to a friend of my father's who very graciously loaned it to me for the morning. He also opened the invitation to any one else I wanted to drive it.

Herb drives the car almost daily; it has 32,000 miles on the odometer!

Thanks to everyone for your great information and friendship over this past year. Without this forum, my car probably wouldn't have been sitting nose to nose with the SLR today.

One of the best guys I've met yet on the forum. Sharp kid for your age, with just the right sarcasm potential.
Not many of us get to have an inherited heirloom from a family member. That part of your "story" is cool.
Now we just have to bring around Europower Jose to your side......
BTW, you need to keep practicing remembering anniversary dates. It will come in handy in the future......

And you were able to dodge fatherhood during your tenure here.

Congrats on the anniversary. You're right in that the forum has allowed all of us to benefit with collective wisdom

Nice SLR

notice all of the MBCA members not even looking at the SLR... pffft losers. I'm the only person in my chapter that doesn't send my car to the dealership for work.

Mmmmmmmm SLR! There are two here in town, awesome cars. I'm happy to hear that he actually drives the thing! I know I would every day if I had one.

UH......is that a tear I see in Old Norm's eye in that photo. He's thinking you've run off and gotten a new toy.
Congrats on the year on the forum, mines coming up in September. I have learned so much and what little I have been able to contribute, well I hope it has helped.

NIIIICCCCEEE CAR!!!!! They have one in the showroom in Valencia. That is a Mclaren isn't it?

That's Ol' Turbo in the picture, and he knows better.

Shortly after I bought the wagon the fuel filters clogged and the left rear window quit. With a full mechanical reconditioning, new paint job, and 16,000 miles driven in one year, Ol' Turbo shouldn't feel neglected at all.
