Like the amateur I am, I snapped that little plastic stick that protrudes at the base of the wooden shift surround. Its function is to align the wooden surround piece and keep it flush. Of course, now my piece of trim sits up and floats over the console and I truly feel like a moron. It's actually making me feel depressed on some level. This was one of the nicer, unmolested parts of the car.

What have others done to fix this?
