Time to learn how to rebuild axles.........:D

If that was the one on Ebay you were the only bidder!
I wonder what they do when they rebuild the CV axles?

Yep, no other bidders. I am not at all pleased with the shipping costs and asked them about it before I bid. Well, that didn't get anywhere......
This is about $30 bucks more that the $149 Dorman CV flexx boot air tool, but somebody said they thought the Dorman unit didn't open up wide enough for Mercedes axles.
Well, at least I knew the Astoria one does......

Yes, I think the pdf said the Dorman tool opened 4.5 inches, but I am guessing they did not subtract the thickness of the arms.

The shipping costs ruins a lot of good deals on Ebay and if the item is not insured you worry if it will get lost in the mail.
2 days ago I recieved a Caster Camber gauge and the seller packed it poorly causing a nasty scratch and dent. I got it with the Aluminum arms were poking outside of the box. The item is still fuctional but I am not happy.
For $30 I hope the insure it for you and pack it well.
Since Ebay bought PayPal I have been hoping they will also start their own package delivery service. That way they could would know if the Seller shipped your item or not and Ebay would have more interest in not losing a package than the USPS.

Believe me, nothing can get destroyed in shipping like an old fan. :(:(
Nothing is worse than having a nice old 100 year old fan, a fan that has made it through 4-5 generations of families, get destroyed in a poorly packed box by some nimrod who really wanted to paint flowers on it.:mad:
Also, believe it or not, I know folks who have paid over $20,000 for a single fan!!!
Must be nice........

The problem with that article is that even the dealership dont even have the special tools. The dealership would tell you to replace them both axles

Just did some last weekend only was about an hour for both. The longest part is removing and installing them.

I pretty much follow this article with some modifications.
