Outside air temp sensor for a 190

Does anyone know what the resistance should be on the outside temp sensor (the one that runs from behind the licsence plate to the dash) for a 1987 190D at different tempratures? Mine never gave the right temp on the display and I am wondering if the problem is in the display or in the sensor.

I have the instrument cluster out at the moment, so it would be a good time to replace it if it is faulty.

Thanks to all
George

No clue on the resistance, but I'd almost certainly bet that the sensor had failed rather than the display panel. I could easily be wrong... but the only display panel failure that I have personally seen, is the failure where the LCD screen becomes cracked and leaks its fluid out all over the display, rendering it inoperable. I've never seen one keep working but provide the wrong data.

Wouldn't hurt to clean all the contacts just to possibly get lucky and stumble upon a dirty pin on a plug that was causing a false reading.
