1987 300SD Cylinder head version
My brother has a 1987 300SD and I need to know which version of the cylinder head he has. Where on the head is this information located, can it be seen while installed on the engine, and what am I looking for?

There is no 1987 300SD, you probably mean a 300SDL. If its an '87 it likely has an updated (non #14) head and shouldn't have any issues.

Search "603 head number" for the information you want.

The original head on an '87 300SDL is a #14 casting.
Over the second injector the number series starts, 603 xxx 14 xx would be a #14 casting. BlueBird or Wanderlodge?
